![]() this was a great way to sit back and relax and unwind from our previous day's travel, and mentally prepare ourselves for Santorini! Waters were for the most part smooth. We were a bit bummed about this at first but our attitude quickly changed when we saw the cabin (Pictures attached). We got in the night before from Boston and got up at ~6am in order to be on the 7am ferry. We booked a blue star ferry private cabin for an early morning ride to Santorini from Athens. If you take this boat, DEFINITELY bring your own food! ![]() We tried to order Greek food from the snack bar, but they had already run out, so we had to go to the "self service" restaurant called "Goody's Burger House," which I can honestly say is worse than McDonald's. Needless to say, we were very tired the next day!Īnother reason I am giving this a 3-star review is because of the food options on the boat. They woke us at 3:30 am and asked us to pack and leave by 4:00 am. In fact, the Blue Star Naxos arrived one entire hour early. Unfortunately, this was the only ferry we took during our trip to Greece that arrived EARLY (all of our other boats arrived one hour+ late). The cabin itself was clean and nice - we had the room to ourselves and it included two twin beds (but with the ability to accommodate 4 people) and a private bathroom. Since it was an overnight boat, we decided to book an A2 cabin (2-berth outside) so we could get some beauty rest and enjoy our last day in Athens. *The Crete routes are jointly operated with Anek Lines.įor more information visit: the Blue Star Ferries or Hellenic Seaways website. We took the Blue Star Naxos from Amorgos (Katapola) to Athens (Piraeus) which was supposed to leave at 7:00 pm and arrive at 5:00 am.
